Deep roots
Rocky Cross has stood as a country church where generations have worshiped, served, and marked the major moments of life.
About Us
For generations this church has stood in the North Carolina countryside as a place to know God and be known by His people. That calling hasn't changed.
Our Story
Rocky Cross Baptist Church has gathered faithfully in the country between Zebulon and Middlesex for close to a hundred years. Generations of families have been baptized, married, and laid to rest here. Through changing seasons, the heart of this church has stayed the same: ordinary people, drawn together by an extraordinary God. Today we're a church being renewed - holding tightly to the faith handed down to us while throwing the doors wide open to our neighbors.
Rocky Cross has stood as a country church where generations have worshiped, served, and marked the major moments of life.
We are asking God to renew ordinary people through His Word, real community, and faithful worship.
You do not have to have church figured out before you come. We want neighbors to know Jesus and be known by His people.
To become boldly evangelistic, unapologetically Bible-believing and Bible-living, and selfless for the sake of Christ and His mission.
Where We Are Going
We want every guest to feel at home, know what we are about, and see that we take the gospel seriously in both spreading it and obeying it.
We want to speak clearly and gladly about Jesus so our neighbors can hear and respond to the good news.
We believe Scripture is God's Word, and we want it to shape what we teach, love, obey, and become.
We want our life together to point beyond ourselves to Christ, His church, and the people He sends us to love.
What We Believe
Rocky Cross is a Baptist church. Our convictions are summarized below and stated fully in the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
We hold to historic Christian truth, preach the Bible as God's Word, and seek to live as a church family shaped by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The Bible is God's true and trustworthy Word, the final authority for faith, life, and the mission of the church.
There is one living and true God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus is fully God and fully man, crucified for sinners, risen from the dead, and reigning as Lord.
Salvation is God's gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ.
The church is a family of baptized believers who worship, serve, make disciples, and care for one another.
Jesus will return, make all things new, and bring His people into everlasting life with God.
Meet the Pastor
Pastor Mason Bridges is from Raleigh, and Savannah is from Rolesville. They met at Wake Tech and have been married for more than 15 years.
Mason grew up with his grandmother and brother in a family marked by addiction and alcoholism. By 18, he was walking the same destructive road, chasing whatever sin promised in the moment while carrying the weight of a guilty conscience.
One night, alone in his room, the weight of his sin became undeniable. That night he saw that because of the love of Christ and the cross of Christ, he could leave it all behind and be forgiven. A few years after his conversion, God called him into ministry.
I pastor Rocky Cross because I am loved by the people here and I love the people here. I sense a calling and commitment to this church.Pastor Mason Bridges
